Yourself, your visit.  Come for an hour, come for an afternoon or stay the night.  Fire pits, logs and secluded shelters, camping kitchens, cabin kitchens and activity cabins for hire.  We offer camping in wild meadows and unique heated glamping cabins, you choose, make your experiences with us and our selected local partners.  We are open all year which is perfect for those who want to retreat, but also we have many groups who make fun filled escapes to the countryside with friends and family.  We host Birthday Parties and party activities, wholesome family get-togethers, small group trainers and well being practitioners, corporate camping weekends, business break out meetings, woodland guided walk and talks.  On site you will find parking, facilities, heated and open spaces, stories from the wood.

Pitch a tent

We offer wild camping here at Wolford Wood. Choose your perfect place to pitch in 40 acres of wildflower meadows.  All camping is non-electric, allowing you to fully immerse in the wild camping experience.  But not too wild as we have facilities on site including hot and cold showers, flushing loos, outdoor kitchen, fridge freezer and kettle.  We operate a "Leave no trace" ethos, please take your rubbish home with you.

Cabins

The Cabins bring their own brand of glamping experience. Each cabin includes bed linen, towels, light, heating and electric sockets. The outdoor kitchens include stoves for cooking, fridge freezers, cooking equipment, crockery and cutlery alongside outdoor seating, gazebo, firepit and logs. The Avalon cabins are situated in an intimate space with a decked area next to each other. If you want a more secluded experience (ie: no neighbours) then we recommend you choose to stay in The Glade or Woodman’s cabin instead.

Frequently asked questions

The campsite has no electric hookups but we have a few plugs in the outdoor kitchen for pumping up air beds and charging torches. 

No, we do not accommodate caravans, campervans or motorhomes.

No, we have a designated car park a short walk away from the camping field with wheelbarrows to help transport your belongings to your chosen pitch space.

Unfortunately, we no longer allow dogs. We love dogs, however being situated close to farmland, we cannot accept any on site.

No, as part of our “leave no trace” ethos, all campers are asked to leave with their rubbish and dispose of it at their own home. Plan in advance and bring food in Tupperware and paper bags that can then be used as kindling for a fire.  

Yes, but all fires and BBQ’s must be off the ground. Please see rules on fires under our terms section.

Early check-in is subject to availability and by prior arrangement, please message us when booking or use our contact form on our web site if you would like to arrange this.

Terms

We ask that you read the following terms and conditions carefully to ensure your stay at Wolford Wood will meet your needs and expectations. 

  • Wolford Wood may modify the content of the website and/or the Terms and Conditions at any time. 

Booking Conditions 

  • We reserve the right to refuse any booking or terminate the booking of any guest in breach of the terms and conditions or whose antisocial behaviour disturbs other guests and residents to which no refunds will be made. 
  • We endeavor to provide all facilities advertised on our website but reserve the right to withdraw or change site facilities at any time. 
  • Camping bookings can be made right up until one day before arrival via our online booking platforms. 
  • Cabin bookings need to be enquired by emailing [email protected] if the booking is one day before arrival. 

Payment Terms 

  • It is the customers responsibility to check all dates are correct upon receiving the confirmation email and ensure all remaining balance payments are made on time.
  • In the event that we do not receive a payment, or a payment is failed, we will contact you via the email provided on the booking details. If we do not hear from you, we reserve the right to cancel your booking without providing a refund.
  • Cancellation less than two weeks before arrival is non-refundable.
  • Please contact us as soon as possible by email ([email protected] ) or telephone (07444 836753) if you need to amend or cancel your booking.

Liability 

  • Your personal belongings, vehicles, and accessories are left at your own risk. Wolford Wood are not liable for the loss, theft, or damage of any property.
  • The lead customer on the booking is responsible for all guests in their party. Anyone defacing or causing damage to buildings, equipment or property at Wolford Wood will be asked to leave immediately and the lead customer will be responsible to pay compensation towards covering repair costs.

General Safety and Considerations 

  • 5mph Speed limit and strictly no driving on fields or grass. 
  • Please ensure to close all gates behind you. 
  • Wolford Wood is a working woodland, please adhere to no entry signs for your own safety. 
  • Under 18’s must always be accompanied by parents or guardians. Please keep children away from machinery and wood stacks, they are extremely dangerous and prone to collapse. 
  • Stick to the woodland paths at all times. There is no GPS signal/ phone service in the woodland.
  • Antisocial behaviour is not tolerated. 
  • Please don’t feed or pet any livestock. 
  • All waste must be taken with you off site at the end of the stay. 
  • Weather conditions may incur fire bans, this must be adhered to. 
  • Wolford Wood accept no liability for accident, loss of property or personal injury which may be sustained by your party or guests or our property during your stay at Wolford Wood. 
  • Wheelbarrows must be returned for other guests to use. They are not toys for children to play or sit in. 

Checking In and Out 

  • Check in – 12:00pm-7:00pm.
  • Early check is subject to availability and prior arrangement when booking. 
  • Please contact us if you will be arriving later that stated above. 
  • Check out – 11:00am.
  • Late check out is subject to availability and prior arrangement when booking. 
  • You are welcome to stay on site until 5:00pm on the day of departure. 

Liability

Fires

  • Fire pits must be returned to the area next to the toilet block. 
  • Fires and BBQ’s must be off the ground.
  • Do not put glass or metal in the fire.
  • Children must always be under supervision around open fires.
  • Extinguish fire before leaving the site or going to bed.
  • Tents must be 6+ metres from the fire, further if the weather is windy.
  • Familiarise yourself with the locations of fire extinguishers and hose pipes.

Waste 

  • There are no waste bins on site.
  • All guests to take their waste with them when leaving.
  • No littering around the site, including cigarette ends and wrappers.
